Arbaaz Khan says he’s indulgent as a father, calls Malaika Arora strict but friendly: ‘He’s the only boy we have’

Arbaaz Khan says that he cherishes his son Arhaan Khan and likes to make him happy in everything as he is his only child. He says that Malaika Arora is a more strict parent than him.

Arbaaz Khan says that ex-wife Malaika Arora is a stricter parent than him, while being friendly and firm with him. The two are co-parents to their 20-year-old son Arhaan Khan. He is currently studying filmmaking in the US and will join Arbaaz on the sets of his production Patna Shukla in December. Arbaaz and Malaika got married in 1998 and divorced in May, 2017. Since then, they continue to co-parent with Arhaan Khan and are occasionally spotted with him at the airport or at family dinners.

Talking about how Malaika Arora and he differ in their approach as parents, Arbaaz said in an interview to media, “Honestly, Malaika is the one who can pull him up a lot more than me. She is tough, but she is friendly and firm at the same time. She is a good mother. As a father I am a little complacent. I pamper Arhaan and I sway. I like to please him in everything. He was our only boy and only child. I want him to get everything he wants and be happy. Sometimes it’s a little too satisfying. But this is not a very good thing.”

Confident that Arhaan has not abused his power, he says, “But he is a good boy. I am not afraid that Arhaan will abuse that little bit of stardom and extra attention. He will never take advantage of the extra things I do. For him.”

Arbaaz recently hit the screens with a web series called Tanav. It is a Hindi adaptation of the hit Israeli show Fouda. He plays the commander of a counter-insurgency unit in the show. Malaika is now making her big screen comeback with a special dance number in Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film An Actioin Hero.
