To launch her new haircare line Anomaly in India, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has teamed up with Indian beauty e-commerce business Naika. The association aims to revolutionize India’s hair care industry with a range of gender-neutral, vegan and innovative products. In a conversation with Bollywood media, Priyanka Chopra discussed her struggle to find affordable haircare products when she moved to the United States of America, but recalls not being able to afford double-digit shampoo when she was a schoolgirl.
Talking about Anomaly, PeeCee asserts, “It is affordable with superior formulas, what you are paying to buy Anomaly and the formula and its experience, you pay at least four times to be able to. To get it with another brand. The idea is to democratize beauty for everyone who can afford it.
The ‘Desi Girl’ further added, “When I first went to the States, I went to retail stores. All the good stuff is in the double digits. At that time I could not achieve double digits in school. And then I sit in the chairs of the most amazing hair and makeup artists in the world who use the most luxurious products ever on my hair. So my standards are very high.
Explaining what inspired him to conceptualize his brand, Bajirao Mastani says, “When I started thinking about creating a brand, I couldn’t lower that standard. So when I talked to Mesa about wanting to create a brand, it always had to be under $10. The best formula is under $10. And what we are doing here is the best formulas under 1000 rupees.”
Coming to her professional front, the 40-year-old actress has several projects in her kitty, including the Bollywood film Jee Le Zara opposite Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
