RRR director SS Rajamouli confirmed the film’s sequel at an event. It became the highest grossing Indian film of the year.
SS Rajamouli confirmed that RRR 2 is in development and said that he is working with his father V Vijayendra Prasad on the story. RRR recently released in Japan and became the third highest grossing Indian film in the country. RRR is SS Rajamouli’s comeback as a director after the success of Baahubali.
RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). The film grossed over ₹1,100 crore worldwide.
According to a report in India Today, SS Rajamouli said at a recent event in Chicago, “My father is the story writer for all my films. We discussed a bit about RRR 2 and he is working on the story.
RRR may have missed out on Chello Show as India’s official entry to the Oscars 2023, but the team has submitted the film to the Academy for consideration in all categories– Best Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor (Junior NTR and Ram Charan), Best Supporting Actor (Ajay Devgan). ), Best Supporting Actress (Alia Bhatt) and more.

RRR is among the 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films to be screened during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The festival will be held from November 20 to November 28, 2022 in Goa.
